When your child gets started with Kinetic Education, our English tutors begin by identifying their current level against the Australian Curriculum. This helps us understand the skills they've mastered and where they need the most support right now. From there, we create a personalised learning plan tailored to your child's needs.
Your child's personalised learning plan is delivered weekly and can be completed at home on a tablet or computer. New 20-minute English lessons are added based on your child's progress, helping keep learning at the right level and supporting a consistent learning routine.
As your child strengthens their foundations, you'll see them build skills and confidence in reading and writing, and keep moving forward at a pace that feels right for them.
Every family is matched with an English tutor who oversees their child's personalised learning plan and progress. Tutors also provide additional support with writing tasks, including planning, structure, grammar, punctuation and feedback on each draft.
When your child gets started with Kinetic Education, we begin by identifying where they are currently working in English, including reading comprehension, spelling, grammar and writing. This helps us see where they may need more practice and where they are ready to move ahead. From there, we create a personalised weekly learning plan, so your child can work through the curriculum at the right pace for them.
We update your child's learning plan with new English activities for the week, selected based on their progress each week. Your child's learning plan is structured around three learning stages: Revision and Catch-Up, Consolidation, and Extension.
When your child first starts with Kinetic Education, their learning plan targets the areas they need the most support with. For Year 3 students, this may include revisiting sight words, early sentence writing, letter sounds or basic punctuation before moving into more complex work.
Once their foundations are stronger, your child practises the skills being covered in Year 3 English. This may include spelling patterns, grammar and punctuation, narrative and persuasive writing structure, and reading comprehension.
When your child is feeling confident in Year 3 English, we give them the opportunity to move one step ahead, including working beyond their current year level while still moving at a pace that works for them.
Year 3 can be a big year for many families, especially with NAPLAN introduced for the first time. When your family joins Kinetic Education, you are matched with a tutor who helps your child get off to a strong start, while overseeing their personalised learning plan and keeping an eye on their progress each week. Wonderful resource for extra help!
I have my two 8 year old daughters (grade 3) using the tutoring program with Kinetic Education and while they are both similar in their needs, each of their programs are individually suited. The work is just tricky enough to allow them to further their knowledge and development in the areas that they need help with, yet not so hard that they feel deflated because they can't do it. My girls feel confident doing their lessons and can do them quite independently. They are also seeing the similarities from the tutoring lessons to those that they are doing in class. This online tutoring program allows for families to be able to work your child's tutoring into busy schedules, doing them at their own pace. The tutors are always available if extra help is needed and they consitently follow up with families about your child's progress and needs.

My son was falling behind in English half way through grade 3 when we started Kinetic - I chose to do both English and maths so it wouldn’t be too difficult to get him to do the work. The reward system is amazing and so motivating. He comes home every night and does Kinetic before his school homework as is so engaging and I don't have to do a thing as tutors and the program guides the learning so well. My son is now about to start grade 5 work in English and feels so much more confident at school and is so proud of himself and we only started the program one year ago.
