How Kinetic Education and Superprof Work

Kinetic Education

Personalised weekly learning with tutor support

For more than 30 years, Kinetic Education has supported over 100,000 Australian families, helping children build confidence, catch up at school and develop stronger Maths and English skills.

Each child starts with an assessment to identify any learning gaps that may be holding them back, so their personalised weekly learning plan is built around what they need most.

Children then complete interactive online activities each week, with instant feedback, worked examples and ongoing adjustments as progress is made.

Superprof

Browse tutors across different subjects

Superprof is a tutor marketplace that connects students with tutors across a wide range of subjects and skills. Families can browse tutor profiles, compare options and contact tutors who may suit their child’s goals.

Tutors work independently, so lesson structure, pricing, availability and curriculum alignment can vary depending on the tutor chosen.

This gives families flexibility and choice, while also allowing them to speak directly with tutors about how support will be planned and delivered.

Choosing between Kinetic Education and Superprof?

Start with these 5 questions

Will the tutoring support what my child is learning at school?

Kinetic Education

Kinetic Education is aligned with the Australian Curriculum. The initial assessment helps identify gaps in your child’s learning, then a personalised learning plan is created each week based on their ongoing assessment and progress. This helps your child catch up, keep up and get ahead in Maths and English.

Superprof

Superprof works differently. It operates like a tutor marketplace, where families can search for the subject they want to focus on and choose a tutor from the available profiles. Because of this, curriculum alignment may depend on the individual tutor and subject you choose. Families may need to check tutor profiles carefully and look for tutors who specifically mention the Australian Curriculum, your child’s grade level or state-based curriculum requirements, such as HSC in NSW or VCE in Victoria.

Kinetic Education gives families Australian Curriculum-aligned Maths and English support, personalised to their child’s needs from the start. Superprof gives families choice across tutors and subjects, so it’s worth checking each tutor’s profile to see whether their lessons align with what their child is learning at school.

How much time will our family spend finding the right support?

Kinetic Education

Kinetic Education is designed to remove the guesswork for your family. We take the time to speak with you, understand your child’s needs and assess where they are currently at. From there, we create a personalised learning plan and match your family with a tutor to support your child’s progress.

Superprof

Superprof gives families more choice, but the search is more parent-led. You can browse tutor profiles, compare subjects, hourly rates, availability and teaching styles, then decide which tutor you would like to contact.

Kinetic Education gives families a clear starting point and ongoing guidance, while Superprof may suit families who are happy to spend more time comparing tutors and shaping the support themselves.

Is there a clear plan for what my child works on each week

Kinetic Education

Kinetic Education creates your child’s weekly learning plan based on their initial assessment, ongoing progress and individual learning needs. Their tutor reviews their progress, and the plan is updated each week so your child is working on the Maths and English skills they need at the right time.

Superprof

Superprof lesson planning is handled by the individual tutor. Tutors can tailor sessions to a student’s goals, skill level and learning style, but the structure may vary from tutor to tutor. Families may need to ask how each tutor plans lessons before getting started.

Kinetic Education gives your child a clear, guided weekly Maths and English plan from the start, with tutor support helping to review and update that plan as they progress. Once families have chosen a Superprof tutor, they can speak with them directly to understand how weekly learning will be planned and supported.

What kind of tutoring support does my child actually need?

Kinetic Education

Kinetic Education is designed for families looking for ongoing Maths and English support that is aligned with the Australian Curriculum, personalised to their child’s needs and supported by family-friendly pricing. It can help children catch up, keep up or get ahead with a personalised weekly plan and tutor support.

Superprof

Superprof may suit families looking for a specific tutor, subject or skill area, such as languages, music, exam preparation or hobby-based learning. Because it covers a wide range of subjects, the type of support available can vary depending on the tutor you choose.

Kinetic Education is built for structured Maths and English progress, while Superprof works as a marketplace where families can find tutors across different subjects and skills.

How does the cost work for our family?

Kinetic Education

With Kinetic Education, pricing starts from $29 per week for the family. Kinetic Education also offers two weeks of free tutoring and a free Maths Doctor diagnostic assessment, helping families understand where their child is currently at and where their learning gaps may be before getting started.

Superprof

Families can browse Superprof tutors for free and when they’re ready to request a lesson, they need a Superprof Student Pass, which is $69 for 30 days. This only activates if the tutor accepts the lesson request, and it lets families contact tutors through Superprof.

After that, families  pay the tutor’s hourly lesson rate, which is set by the individual tutor. So the total cost depends on the Student Pass plus whichever tutor rate your family chooses.

Kinetic Education provides family-friendly pricing, with tutoring starting from $29 per week for the family and support included as part of the tutoring. Superprof’s cost can vary depending on the tutor chosen, as families pay for the $69 Student Pass and then the tutor’s hourly lesson rate separately.

He is so good at maths now he can do calculations quicker than me!

My son has dramatically improved with his English and Maths from Kinetic, he has caught up in his grade and gained confidence in his ability to learn. I strongly recommend this online learning program to any parent who has a child who is struggling at school, or simply wants to improve in their grade. My child has difficulty focusing in a classroom environment and this program fixes that issue. I get to spend one on one time with him learning together, he pays attention and actually enjoys his lessons. He is so good at maths now he can do calculations quicker than me! Definitely worth it!
