Understanding Dyslexia
Dyslexia affects how the brain processes written language, making reading and spelling more difficult than expected, even for bright, capable children.
Many children with dyslexia work incredibly hard but still feel like they’re falling behind, through no fault of their own. Because reading is such a big part of learning, dyslexia can chip away at their confidence and make school feel discouraging.
Instructions might be missed, reading tasks can take longer, and over time, important building blocks in literacy may be left behind. These small struggles can quietly lead to larger gaps, making it harder for children to keep up.
