Maths Tutoring Starts with Identifying Your Child's Level

We begin with our Maths Doctor assessment, which evaluates your child’s skills across multiple year levels of the Australian Curriculum to identify any learning gaps that may be holding them back. This is an important first step, as it shows us exactly where your child needs support to stay on track as they progress through high school.

The assessment takes up to 45 minutes and provides a clear picture of your child’s current skills, along with the areas they need to focus on. From here, we create a personalised learning plan each week, ensuring your child is working on the right topics at the right time and building the skills they need to keep up with class and manage increasing expectations.

Personalised Learning

Every Monday, we update your child's learning plan in Maths Wiz with new activities for the week, selected based on their assessment results and progress. Your child’s learning plan is structured around three learning stages: Revision and Catch-Up, Consolidation, and Extension.

Revision and Catch-Up

When your child first gets started, their learning plan focuses on the gaps identified in their assessment. By revisiting key concepts and strengthening their foundations, we help your child catch up and keep up, while building the understanding they need to stay on track and approach high school maths with confidence.

Consolidation

As their understanding improves, your child begins working through what they are learning in class and building a stronger understanding of each concept. This helps them stay on track with their learning, keep up with class, and feel prepared for increasing expectations.

Extension

When your child is feeling more confident, they have the opportunity to move one step ahead. This helps them build on their understanding, tackle more complex topics with confidence, and feel more prepared when approaching exams.

Real Maths Tutors for Secondary School Students

At Kinetic Education, every family is matched with a maths tutor. Your tutor supports your child from the beginning, overseeing their personalised learning plan each week and keeping you updated on their progress.

As students move through high school, their workload increases, with more homework, assignments, and exams to manage. Your tutor works closely with both you and your child to help them stay on track, build consistent study habits, and keep up with their learning, even when things get busy.

Your child’s personalised learning plan gives them the structure they need to work independently and manage their learning each week. Each concept is clearly explained with instant feedback to help them build understanding and keep up with class.

We know that at times, students will need a little extra help or encouragement. When that happens, their tutor is there to guide them using screen sharing and a digital whiteboard.
